خلال شهر تراث ذوي الأصول الإسبانية/اللاتينية، نتذكر القوة والمرونة ونحتفي بالمساهمات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية لمجتمع ذوي الأصول الإسبانية/اللاتينية القوي والشجاع والمتنوع في أمتنا.
لقد كشف العام ونصف العام الماضي عن أوجه عدم المساواة العرقية والاقتصادية وفاقمها، حيث أن العديد من العاملين في الخطوط الأمامية الذين حافظوا على استمرار عمل هذا البلد هم من أبناء مجتمعاتنا من السود والسمر. منذ بداية هذه الأزمة الصحية، سارع أصحاب الأعمال الصغيرة ورواد الأعمال إلى تغيير مسارهم منذ بداية هذه الأزمة الصحية، وقد فعلوا ذلك من خلال التحلي بالحيلة والإبداع والمرونة. لم يستسلموا.
ومع استمرارنا في مواجهة هذا الوضع، دعونا نكرم ونحتفي بأصحاب الأعمال في جنوب غرب ديترويت وعائلاتهم الذين يواصلون العمل بكرامة واحترام. والكثير منهم من الجيل الأول من المهاجرين الذين يحاولون الحفاظ على تماسكهم ورواد الأعمال من الجيل الثاني الذين يتعلمون من آبائهم كيفية مواصلة إرثهم. يستمر الكفاح، لكن حب هذا المجتمع لما هم عليه وما يفعلونه يمنحهم القوة للاستمرار.
